Italian Food Artisans, LLC

  Immerse yourself in Italian culture and lifestyle. Each day includes hands-on cooking classes or demonstrations at local restaurants along with visits to each region's food artisans. Courses are directed by Pamela Sheldon Johns, cookbook author. Pamela lives in Tuscany on her 15-acre organic olive farm, Poggio Etrusco.

Wine and Food Workshops in Tuscany
Hands-on classes in pasta and local dishes at Pamela’s organic farm in Montepulciano. Discover the range of Tuscan wines, excursions to Pienza and Cortona, shop at the Montepulciano market, cooking demonstrations at local restaurants, visit a Pecorino cheesemaker and the olive oil mill where Pamela presses her olives. Special programs: Participate in the grape harvest in Sept, olive harvest in Nov, mushroom and truffle hunting. Bed and Breakfast and one-day workshops also available.

Piemonte: Truffles and Risotto!
Held annually in October. Visit a Cistercian abbey where rice has grown for centuries. Explore Torino, truffle hunting in Alba, and taste wines in Barolo and Barbera.

The Passions of Emilia-Romagna
Visit Modena, Bologna, and Parma… markets and artisan producers of Parmigiano-Reggiano, balsamic vinegar, prosciutto di Parma, and culatello di Zibello. Hands-on classes in pasta and typical dishes.

The Treasures of Campania
Discover the birthplace of pizza, dried pasta, and buffalo mozzarella in the heart of Campania: Naples, Amalfi, Sorrento. Hands-on cooking classes and tastings.

• Groups of six or more can book an exclusive week year-round.
• One day workshops in Tuscany, minimum 2 persons.

Costs €2,650/wk for Tuscany, €2,950 for other regions; includes shared lodging in a villa or 4-star hotel, all meals, ground transport, planned excursions.
