Italian & Mediterranean Cooking Vacations at Casa Ombuto & Torre del Tartufo

Italian & Mediterranean Cooking Vacations at Casa Ombuto & Torre del Tartufo

Our cookery course was rated "one of the top ten cooking schools" in 2002 by The Observer newspaper.

We offer two specialised hands-on cookery courses:
A classic Italian cookery course given by Paola Baccetti in Casa Ombuto and Franco Palandra in Torre del Tartufo and a Mediterranean cookery course given by Sylvie Pragoutin Casa Ombuto covering the flavours of not only Italy but also the French, Spanish and Moroccan kitchen. Both Sylvie and Paola are passionate about food and be prepared to roll up your sleeves and get to work! You will learn a tremendous amount and have fun doing it in an informal and friendly environment.

In both villas the cooking lessons are given in the "Cantina" of these recently restored large Tuscan villas - Casa Ombuto and Torre del Tartufo. The luxurious are both set on a hill with a spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys; They both have heated pools and all modern comforts and are both totally secluded yet only 50km south of Florence.

The cookery courses are for one week and include 4 elaborate hands-on cooking sessions (two extra morning sessions for the Mediterranean course), with enough time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. A one-day excursion will be organized to visit a vineyard for wine tasting, Cheese farm, as well as to a local producer of olive oil and time for shopping. It is also possible to bring along a non-participating partner who can spend the day enjoying the surroundings, site-seeing or playing golf and could then join the group at dinner time.
